Established in 2001, Bliss House is a 12 bed facility for women addicted to drugs and or alcohol. The program at Bliss House, which utilizes a 12 Step approach to recovery, is open to women in several Indiana counties and is the only halfway house in Southern Indiana with this focus. The average length of stay to graduate from the program is 7 months. The physical, emotional and social benefits to the women who succeed with the program are obvious, but there’s also a monetary benefit to individual counties, as these women are provided treatment that’s needed instead of incurring expenses associated with incarceration.
